Compute Units per Second

Latest value: 82.8 million CU on 3 November 2026.

30-day average: 95.8 million CU, up 33% from a year earlier (72 million CU).

Highest daily value since January 2025: 139.2 million CU on 24 August 2026.

The default network series of the Explorer (total_cu_per_second_avg). Download the data (CSV)

Compute units (CUs) that blocks consume per second of time. For the network, the mean is the CUs of the day divided by 86,400 seconds; for a client, scheduler or validator, it is the CUs of its blocks divided by the time of those blocks. The percentiles divide the CUs of each block by its duration: the time from its first shred to the first shred of the next slot, at one Ghost receiver. Durations start on 9 February 2026. Before 14 August 2025, the network mean of the Total view comes from Firedancer. Vote and Non-vote split the compute units by transaction type, and Successful and Failed by transaction outcome; the % view shows the share of the type's compute units.

What it shows

Compute units (CUs) that blocks consume per second of time. When slots get shorter, CU per block falls, but CU per second shows whether the network does more or less work.

How it is computed

The network mean is the cost units of all blocks of the day divided by 86,400 seconds. For a client, scheduler or validator, the mean is the cost units of its blocks divided by the time of those blocks. The percentiles (P10, P50, P90) divide the cost units of each block by its own duration. A block has no duration when the next slot has no block, or when the duration is outside 0 to 5,000 ms. The Outcome, Type and % views work as on Compute Units Per Block.

Aggregation: The mean is a ratio of sums over the blocks of the group. The percentiles are true percentiles over the blocks of the group, not averages of validator percentiles.
