Block Time

Latest value: 214.3 ms on 3 November 2026.

30-day average: 223.5 ms, down 43% from a year earlier (391.8 ms).

Highest daily value since July 2025: 423.6 ms on 30 July 2026.

Wall-clock time between consecutive produced blocks in milliseconds, from Trillium slot-duration measurements. The target was 400 ms until August 2026; SIMD-0525 cuts it in 50 ms steps to 350, 300, 250 and 200 ms (October 2026). Slower blocks stretch epochs and lower throughput.

What it shows

The blocks-produced-weighted arithmetic mean of each validator's average slot duration in the epoch. Each validator's contribution is scaled by how many blocks it produced, so high-throughput validators drive the aggregate proportionally and the result reflects the network-wide average experienced across actual block production rather than a simple average over validators.

How it is computed

Each validator's mean slot duration for an epoch is weighted by the number of blocks that validator produced. The network figure is the sum of (mean slot duration times blocks produced) divided by total blocks produced across all validators with valid data. Validators that produced no blocks in the epoch are excluded.

Aggregation: Blocks-produced weighted average across all validators per epoch.
